Spritzer History

Címlap fotóThe name "spritzer" comes from the Hungarian poet, Mihály Vörösmarty: according to the legend, András Fáy, author, lawyer, politician and businessman, called his friends for grape harvest to his wine cellar at Fót.

Mihály Vörösmarty and Ányos Jedlik, inventor, engineer, physicist were also there.

Jedlik brought with him the world's first Siphon bottle, and for the amazement of the host and all the guests, he made the first spritzer at the Fáy estate.

Vörösmarty had stomach ache when he drank wine, so he mixed it with sparkling water.

Hes stomach stopped aching, so he liked the drink, but didn't like the name. He named it "Fröccs" (spritzer).

"We packaged the Spritzer" that nobody could do until now!
